October Meeting

"Festival Season Readiness"

There are many steps involved when preparing for festival season, but possibly none more important than building a jockey box. This  month, Justin Hart will show us just how valuable a jockey box can be  by demonstrating his most recent build. In addition, we will also have  other examples of jockey boxes on hand for your viewing pleasure.

Meeting Agenda:

• New Member Packets: We  have accumulated some stickers from local breweries as well as free  beer tokens. We will also be formulating a welcome letter to include in  the packet and purchase some inexpensive bags to put it all in.

• Official OZ October Social: Our official monthly social for October will be at High Gravity: Girls on the Run, Oct. 6th.

• Canopy Replacement: The OZ canopy was successfully replaced and made its debut at the Ale-Truism Oktoberfest Fundraiser.

• Iron Brewer 2024: We  will be discussing which two styles we would like for our portion of  the Iron Brewer competition next year. Voting will take place at the  November meeting.

• Christmas Party: The  officers have discussed the possibility of making our December meeting a  Christmas party. The initial idea is to purchase pizzas from Goat Lab  and binging PotLuck style sides, appetizers, dips, etc. We will need to get approval from Bill before bringing outside food. The officers are certainly open to other ideas as we will be voting on this party as a club.

• Officers for 2024 - A Call for Leadership: We will be taking a moment during this meeting to discuss the future of the club and what that looks like going forward. We  are facing a complete turn over in the officer ranks, so we will be  discussing the roles of each officer and explaining how we will be  helping the next officer team have success.

• Iron Brewer for 2023:
  • Q3 - Kolsch (October 3rd @ OZ)
  • Q4 - English Porter (January 18th @ FLOPS)

• Who is brewing soon? - Invite your fellow homebrewers to join you via our email group and/or Facebook.

• Homebrew Share - Identify the homebrews that were brought to the meeting

• Educational Piece - "Festival Season Readiness" Presented by Justin Hart

• New Club Business - What else is coming up?

• Equipment Swap - Bring any unused equipment to wheel and deal with other members
